Sanaa: The Ministry of Health and Environment commemorated the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) today with a central event for the health sector under the slogan "Never Shall We Submit to Humiliation," in the presence of the Speaker of Parliament, Yahya Ali al-Ra'i.
According to Yemen News Agency, the event, which also saw the participation of the Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Hassan al-Sa'di, featured a keynote speech by the Minister of Health and Environment, Dr. Ali Shaiban. Dr. Shaiban emphasized the significance of commemorating Ashura and drawing lessons from the life of Imam Hussein, focusing on the values of courage and sacrifice in confronting injustice and tyranny. He described the commemoration as a milestone for spiritual, cultural, and educational renewal, highlighting the principles of the Karbala revolution as models of sacrifice and reform.
Dr. Shaiban further noted the Yemeni people's honorable stance in supporting national causes, linking it to the project of truth and the revolution of Imam Hussein against tyranny. He praised the steadfastness and resilience of the Yemeni people, particularly in supporting Palestine and confronting the repercussions of aggression and blockade.
Dhaifallah Al-Jaradi, faculty member at the Academy of the Holy Quran, also addressed the gathering, underscoring the importance of the commemoration as a moment of faith and awareness. He stressed the significance of the tragedy of Karbala and its values in addressing current challenges and strengthening awareness of the issues facing the nation. Al-Jaradi highlighted the lessons of Imam Hussein's revolution in countering deviation and tyranny.
Al-Jaradi elaborated on the lessons from Karbala, emphasizing the nation's responsibility towards crucial issues and the importance of steadfastness in adhering to the truth. He called for drawing inspiration from Imam Hussein's timeless stances in confronting falsehood and emulating his sacrifice and patience in defending the nation's causes.
The event concluded with participation from undersecretaries of the Ministry of Health and Environment, directors general, and program directors, featuring a poem and an operetta titled "Husayniyyun" (Husayniyyun).
