Sanaa: The Ministry of Health and Environment, in collaboration with the Supreme Authority for Medicines and Medical Supplies and the Medical Council, organized an event to commemorate the Prophet's birthday. The gathering featured speeches that highlighted the significance of the occasion and its spiritual importance for the Yemeni people and the broader Islamic community.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Grand Mufti of Yemen, Shams al-Din Sharaf al-Din, addressed the audience with a message of congratulations to the Islamic nation and the Yemeni populace on the approaching anniversary. He emphasized the Prophet's birthday as a moment of reflection, urging the community to seek inspiration from the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). He highlighted the importance of adhering to the Prophet's teachings as a means to navigate life's challenges and reinforce the values of steadfastness and resistance against adversaries.
During the event, the Grand Mufti underscored the occasion as an opportunity for spiritual growth and devotion, declaring the celebration an act of worship that brings believers closer to Allah. He discussed the Prophet's moral character and the significance of glorifying the Prophet as a means to honor the values, principles, and ideals he espoused. The Mufti called for a unified Muslim community to embody these values, drawing lessons from the Prophet's companions, and urged the audience to participate in grand celebrations across governorates as a demonstration of unity and resistance.
Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council, Dhaifallah Rassam, also spoke, emphasizing the importance of the commemoration as a defense against insults to sacred elements of Islam. He highlighted the collaborative role of tribes and the armed forces in defending Yemen's sovereignty and independence, advocating for an end to aggression and the expulsion of Saudi forces.
Minister of Health and Environment, Dr. Ali Shaiban, elaborated on the virtues of the Prophet and the historical relationship between Yemenis and the Prophet Muhammad. He called on Yemenis to emulate the Prophet's universal approach and to resist oppression, deriving strength from faith and the Prophet's life. The Minister condemned the war on Yemen as a consequence of its adherence to the Prophet's teachings, affirming Yemen's commitment to supporting the Prophet's legacy.
The event featured cultural performances, including songs, poems, and folk arts, attended by officials from various sectors, including the Chairman of the Medical Council, Dr. Abdulkarim Shaiban, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cancer Control Fund, Dr. Abdul Salam Al-Madani.
