Sana'a: The Ministry of Information and its affiliated institutions marked the first anniversary of the martyrdom of Minister of Information Hashem Ahmed Sharaf al-Din with a commemorative event in Sana'a.
According to Yemen News Agency, Deputy Minister of Information Dr. Omar al-Bakhiti praised the martyr Hashem Sharaf al-Din as a significant figure in Yemeni media, recognized for his voice, eloquence, and professional integrity. Dr. al-Bakhiti expressed his struggle to find words to honor a dedicated leader who devoted his life to enhancing the media's role during challenging times.
Dr. al-Bakhiti reaffirmed the commitment to follow the path of the martyr and all national martyrs until victory is achieved or martyrdom is attained in defense of the homeland. He highlighted ongoing projects inspired by the late minister's ideas, including the Media Training and Development Institute and the finalization of the Media Law.
The Deputy Minister lauded the achievements of Hashem Sharaf al-Din over the past year, despite national challenges, and emphasized the Ministry's resolve to confront aggression and lift the siege. Dr. Ahmed al-Shami, Undersecretary for Policies and Content, offered condolences and congratulations on the minister's martyrdom, recognizing his contributions to building a robust media system.
Dr. al-Shami underlined the martyr's commitment to confronting enemies and expressed solidarity with the leader of the revolution, Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badr Al-Din Al-Houthi. He extended condolences for the martyrdom of the Prime Minister of the Change and Reconstruction Government, Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahawi, and other national martyrs.
Undersecretary for External Relations and Media, Mohammed Mansour, remarked on the significance of the martyrs' sacrifices in securing Yemen's future. He emphasized the need to fulfill the aspirations of the martyred Minister, particularly the completion of the media law.
Mansour recounted the late minister's contributions at Sana'a Radio and as a founder of the Al-Masirah Network, emphasizing his dedication to media development. He reiterated the importance of sacrifices for victory, renewing the pledge to remain faithful to the martyrs' legacy.
The event, attended by various officials, included a poem by Badi' al-Zaman al-Sultan and a tribute to the martyr's family, featuring an operetta by the Darmoush Foundation for Artistic Production.
