Muscat Stock Exchange Index Experiences 1.16% Decline

Muscat: The benchmark index of the Muscat Stock Exchange closed Tuesday at 7,303.30 points, marking a decrease of 85.6 points, or 1.16 percent, from the previous trading session's close of 7,388.86 points.

According to Yemen News Agency, the trading value reached OMR 21.73 million, reflecting a decline of 24.2 percent compared to the previous session's OMR 28.66 million. The Muscat Stock Exchange report indicated that market capitalization fell by 0.386 percent from the prior trading day, reaching approximately OMR 36.14 billion.

The report further detailed that non-Omani investors purchased shares worth OMR 2.79 million, which accounted for 12.83 percent of the total trading value. Meanwhile, sales by non-Omani investors amounted to OMR 3.33 million, representing 15.32 percent of the total trades. Consequently, net foreign investment recorded an outflow of OMR 541,000, equivalent to 2.49 percent of the total trading activity.
