Tokyo: Japan's Nikkei index fell on Tuesday, with SoftBank shares leading the decliners, as the post-election optimism faded. The Nikkei 225 index dropped 0.6 percent to 56,451.43 by 01:30 GMT, extending its losses for a fourth consecutive session. According to Yemen News Agency, the broader Topix index fell 0.4 percent to 3,771.16. Shares of SoftBank Group Corp. plunged 4.6 percent, making it the biggest loser and dragging the Nikkei down by 170 points. The technology and investment group's shares have fluctuated between gains and losses over the past four sessions.
