Muscat: Oman's natural gas production, which includes both domestic output and imports, recorded a slight growth of 0.7 percent, reaching 32.879 billion cubic meters from the start of this year through the end of July. This is an increase from 32.643 billion cubic meters during the same period in 2024. According to Yemen News Agency, the National Centre for Statistics and Information, cited Monday by the Oman News Agency, reported that associated gas production rose by 10.8 percent to 7.309 billion cubic meters by the end of July 2025. This is up from 6.594 billion cubic meters in the corresponding period of 2024. Meanwhile, production of non-associated gas, including imports, declined by 1.8 percent, totaling 25.571 billion cubic meters, compared to 26.049 billion cubic meters during the same period last year. On the consumption side, natural gas use in industrial projects fell by 3.9 percent to 16.373 billion cubic meters, versus 17.046 billion cubic meters a year earlier. Gas consumption in power genera tion plants rose slightly, by 0.5 percent, to 8.805 billion cubic meters, compared to 8.758 billion cubic meters in July 2024. The report also showed that gas consumption in oil fields, including industrial zones, Oman Mining Company, and Oman Cement Company, grew 12.7 percent to 7.540 billion cubic meters, up from 6.693 billion cubic meters last year. Gas use in industrial zones increased by 10.3 percent, reaching 161.4 million cubic meters, compared to 146.3 million cubic meters in the same period of 2024.
