Sana'a: The Yemeni Parliament condemned on Saturday the escalating actions of armed militias affiliated with Saudi Arabia and the UAE in the occupied southern and eastern provinces. In a statement, the Parliament expressed its strong condemnation and rejection of all conspiratorial plots being hatched against Yemen, the latest of which is the transformation of the occupied Yemeni provinces into an arena for conflict, settling scores, and division of spoils among the warring militias affiliated with the Saudi and Emirati regimes.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Parliament called on the free people of the occupied southern and eastern provinces to unite and confront the criminal plots being hatched against Yemen, which target its unity, security, sovereignty, and stability. It warned the militias and mercenaries of the aggression against continuing to tamper with the security and stability of the nation, holding them fully responsible for what is happening in the occupied Yemeni provinces, including the destruction and looting of resources, the terrorizing of civilians, the disruption of transportation routes, the displacement of people from the northern provinces, and the plundering of their private property.
The Parliament condemned these practices as criminal and subversive acts that violate national values and principles, the Constitution of the Republic of Yemen, applicable laws, and international agreements, conventions, and humanitarian and ethical norms. It noted that the looting of property, occupation of citizens' homes, and violation of their sanctity occurring in the governorates of Hadramawt and al-Mahra are no less serious than the crimes and violations taking place in Gaza. The House also praised the historical role played by the people of Hadramawt and Al-Mahra.
The statement explained that Hadramawt is a symbol of peace, as it is home to scholars, religious figures, and righteous individuals, as well as merchants and business leaders. It is a symbol of brotherhood and the promotion of social peace, in addition to its active role in economic development due to its strategic location.
The statement deemed the crimes and violations committed by the Southern Transitional Council militias to be alien to Hadramawt, an affront to its honorable people, and completely unrelated to their history. The Parliament called upon all national forces and free people to bear the religious, national and historical responsibility for what is happening in terms of tampering and sabotage in the occupied governorates, calling for confronting these acts of sabotage and preserving the unity, security, sovereignty and stability of Yemen.
