Sana'a: Speaker of Parliament Yahya al-Ra'i chaired part of a meeting of the Labor, Social Affairs, and Labor Committee on Saturday. The meeting saw the participation of heads from various committees, including the Defense and Security Committee's Mohammed al-Hawari, the Development and Oil Committee's Mohammed Suwar, the Services Committee's Ali al-Kaboudi, and the Public Health and Population Committee's Mahmoud al-Harib.
According to Yemen News Agency, Speaker al-Ra'i commended the committee's efforts in addressing insurance issues. He expressed gratitude to the committee's chairman, members, and the General Secretariat of Parliament for their role in monitoring and correcting insurance cases. The Speaker urged the committee to expedite its tasks and prepare a corresponding report.
During the session, the committee reviewed a report from the General Secretariat of Parliament. The report, prepared by a joint technical team from the General Secretariat of Parliament and the General Authority for Social Security and Pensions, examined the insurance status of Parliament members and employees. The committee also received clarifications from Abdulrahman al-Mansour, Assistant Secretary-General of the House of Representatives and head of the technical team.
Continuing its agenda, the committee, under the leadership of Azzam Salah and attended by Finance Committee rapporteur Mohammed al-Bakri and Defense and Security Committee rapporteur Ahmed Shaya, discussed several issues based on previous meetings. The committee plans to continue meetings to complete its assignments and prepare a detailed report.
