Sanaa: Speaker of Parliament Yahya al-Ra'i on Monday sent congratulatory messages to his counterparts, the Speakers of Parliament in several Arab and Islamic countries, on the occasion of the new Hijri year 1448 AH and the anniversary of the Prophet's migration (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).
According to Yemen News Agency, the Speaker expressed his wishes for the Speakers' continued health and happiness, and for the further development and prosperity of parliamentary relations between Yemen and each of their respective countries. He also recalled the suffering of the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples and the continued Israeli intransigence and arrogance towards the countries of the region. He affirmed Yemen's unwavering support for the Palestinian people until the aggression is halted, the siege is lifted, and a Palestinian state is established with al-Quds as its capital.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives called for breaking the silence and abandoning the cause, urging urgent action to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and put an end to the crimes and massacres perpetrated against them by Zionist war criminals in full view of the world and the international community. He praised the solidarity and humanitarian support shown to the Palestinian people and Arab causes, as demonstrated by protests in London and sporting events in Spanish cities where the Palestinian flag was raised as an expression of solidarity.
The Speaker prayed to Allah Almighty that this occasion would return to the Arab and Islamic nations with complete victory over the enemies of the nation and with greater progress and prosperity.
