Sana'a: Parliament speaker Yahya al-Ra'i met on Tuesday with the Acting Prime Minister Mohammed Miftah. The meeting, which included the Assistant Secretary-General of Parliament Abdulrahman al-Mansour and the Head of the General Authority for Zakat Sheikh Shamsan Abu Nashtan, focused on the latest national, regional, and international developments.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Speaker heard an explanation from the Acting Prime Minister regarding the government's efforts to implement its program and the Parliament's recommendations, specifically concerning the merger of several government institutions and agencies as required by the process of change and national interest.
Discussions also covered necessary amendments to laws to facilitate these mergers and the measures taken by the government to confront the repercussions of the aggression and blockade.
The Speaker affirmed that Yemen possesses sufficient readiness and capability, thanks to its revolutionary and political leadership, to counter all conspiracies and challenges, including the unjust UN Security Council decision to extend sanctions.
He stressed the importance of everyone's cooperation and mobilizing efforts to face external plots aimed at Yemen's unity, security, and sovereignty, and urged the government to intensify its efforts to thwart these conspiracies.
