Sana'a: A meeting chaired by Hamoud Al-Naqeeb, Head of the Social Affairs Committee in the Capital Sana'a and Deputy Head of the Development Team, discussed on Saturday the performance of Maeen multipurpose cooperative society and the activities and projects it implemented during the past four months.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting, which was attended by Mazen Numan, Undersecretary of the Capital for the Financial Sector; Sami Sharaf Al-Din, Assistant Undersecretary for Administrative Units; Nasser Al-Kahali, Director of the Social Affairs Office; Abdul-Malik Al-Radhi, Director of the Ma'een District; and Abdullah Abbas, Chairman of the Society, reviewed the Society's successes in providing care and support services to targeted groups and expanding the scope of its rehabilitation, social protection, and economic empowerment programs.
The meeting also addressed the training and vocational courses organized by the Ma'een Society to build the capacities of youth and women and prepare them for the labor market, thereby enhancing opportunities for sustainable development.
It further discussed the difficulties encountered during the period and their impact on the outcomes of some field activities, as well as proposed solutions. The meeting approved a package of measures to develop the association's work mechanisms, programs, and plans, and to activate partnerships with supporting and relevant entities, ensuring the continuity of projects and improving services provided to the community.
It emphasized the importance of concerted efforts and integrated roles among various sectors, working as a unified team to address challenges and advance the association's developmental and service-oriented goals in the coming phase.
The head of the association highlighted the crucial role of cooperative societies in supporting community development efforts and initiatives, promoting economic empowerment, activating cooperative and volunteer work, and improving the level of services provided to citizens. He stressed the importance of establishing the principles of transparency and institutional work to enhance trust between the association's management and its members, and to expand the base of beneficiaries of its activities and projects in various fields, particularly economic empowerment, care, training, and rehabilitation.
For his part, Sharaf Al-Din emphasized the necessity of coordinating efforts across various sectors and focusing on empowering youth and productive families economically through supporting small projects, thereby contributing to reducing unemployment and improving their income levels.
Al-Radhi explained that the leadership of Maeen district pays great attention to cooperative development work, stressing the readiness to provide all possible support to the Ma'in Association in order to enable it to implement its programs and future plans, and to serve the people of the Directorate.
