Taiz:The Popular Forces Union has issued a strong condemnation against the continued war crimes allegedly committed by Saudi forces in Yemen. The most recent incident involves the targeting of shops at the central Taiz market in the Mawi'ah junction area of Taiz District.
According to Yemen News Agency, the union criticized attacks on markets, bridges, and civilian facilities, which have resulted in deaths and injuries to dozens of civilians. Such actions are viewed as violations of international humanitarian law, with significant impacts on civilians and essential infrastructure.
The statement from the union suggests these attacks aim to instill fear among civilians, disrupt their lives, and create widespread chaos and humanitarian suffering. However, the union claims that these efforts have not achieved their intended goals.
Furthermore, the Popular Forces Union holds Saudi Arabia fully responsible for these alleged crimes and ongoing violations. It calls upon the international community, the United Nations, and human rights organizations to denounce these acts. The union also urges local media and Yemeni human rights organizations to document these violations and seek accountability for those responsible.
In response to the attacks, the union expressed its support for the actions taken by the revolutionary and political leadership, as well as the Yemeni armed forces. It emphasized that the sacrifices made by the Yemeni people would not be in vain.
