President Congratulates Russian Counterpart on Sovereignty Day

Sana'a: President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat sent a congratulatory cable to President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on Wednesday, marking the celebration of Sovereignty Day by the Russian people.

According to Yemen News Agency, the congratulatory message expressed President al-Mashat's warm wishes for President Putin's good health and happiness, as well as the continued development and prosperity of Russia. The message emphasized the importance of Russia's role in restoring global balance and countering imperialism that threatens national sovereignty and interferes with internal affairs.

The cable further highlighted hopes for Russia's future contributions to promoting global peace and stability, particularly regarding the Palestinian cause. The message condemned the ongoing violence against Palestinians, attributing it to Zionist actions backed by American imperialism, and called these actions violations of international agreements.

President al-Mashat also took the opportunity to reaffirm his country's commitment to strengthening ties with Russia across various fields, with the aim of enhancing regional and international security and stability.
