Sanaa: President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat has assured the Yemeni people that he will secure all their rights in full, without exception. In a speech commemorating the National Day of Steadfastness, al-Mashat praised the resilience of the Yemeni populace in resisting efforts to fragment the nation.
According to Yemen News Agency, al-Mashat expressed gratitude to all individuals, countries, and entities that have contributed to opposing the aggression against Yemen over the past eleven years. He recounted the events since March 26, 2015, when Yemen faced foreign aggression led by Saudi Arabia and supported by an international coalition. The conflict was initially announced from Washington, unveiling its objectives from the outset.
The President highlighted the severe impact of the aggression, noting crimes and massacres that have shocked humanity. He detailed the destruction of homes, markets, and infrastructure, and the targeting of civilian gatherings, emphasizing the immense toll on children and women.
Al-Mashat assured the Yemeni people that their steadfastness would ultimately lead to a significant victory, restoring Yemen's prominence and historical stature. He called on the Saudi regime to actively engage in peace efforts, emphasizing the need for actions rather than words.
He urged Saudi Arabia to prioritize mutual interests over external influences and to expedite agreements that would bring about comprehensive peace. This includes ending aggression, lifting blockades, withdrawing foreign forces, and addressing issues like prisoners, compensation, and reconstruction.
President al-Mashat also reiterated Yemen's support for Iran's right to self-defense against aggression, criticizing the broader Zionist ambitions in the region. He appealed to Arab and Islamic nations to resist becoming instruments of such projects.
