Sanaa: Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi met today with the leadership of the Ministry of Electricity, Energy, and Water, including Minister Dr. Ali Saif and Deputy Minister Adel Badr, to assess the damage to critical power infrastructure. The meeting included discussions with senior officials from the General Corporation for Electrical Industries and the Public Electricity Corporation.
According to Yemen News Agency, the central focus was the emergency plan developed by the ministry to tackle the challenges facing the electricity sector. The Prime Minister was informed about the destruction of the Dhabhan and Haziz power generation stations due to Israeli aggression, which has rendered these stations inoperable. Additionally, significant damage was reported at the Asr and Jadar substations. Despite this, efforts are underway by the ministry, through the Public Electricity Corporation, to restore services and resume power supply.
Al-Rahwi acknowledged the quick response of technical teams from the ministry and the electricity corporation in implementing alternative emergency plans to restore power. He emphasized the importance of repairing and compensating for the damages, highlighting the expertise and capabilities within the ministry and electricity institutions to rebuild the infrastructure destroyed by the ongoing conflict since March 2015.
The Prime Minister's field visit to the Dhabhan and Haziz stations, alongside the electricity minister and other officials, provided him a firsthand look at the destruction. In a media statement, he condemned what he described as the "Zionist enemy's criminal aggression" against Yemen and Gaza, characterized by "hatred, arrogance, and brutality."
He reiterated Yemen's unwavering support for Gaza, grounded in religious, moral, and humanitarian principles, and committed to rebuilding the damaged infrastructure. Al-Rahwi also expressed pride in the public's steadfast support for the leadership, armed forces, and government, while commending the swift restoration efforts by the Electricity Ministry and the contributions of other sectors in mitigating the impact of the aggression.
Concluding his remarks, Al-Rahwi declared that Yemen's support for Gaza would persist despite any conspiracies, affirming the nation's resolve to continue until the aggression ends and the siege is lifted.
