Public Prosecutor Reviews Detainee Conditions in Sana’a Military Prison

Sana'a: The Public Prosecutor, Judge Abdul-Salam al-Houthi, conducted an inspection of the detainee conditions at the military prison in Sana'a, overseeing the release of eligible inmates in conjunction with the forthcoming anniversary of the birth of the Noble Prophet.

According to Yemen News Agency, Judge al-Houthi was accompanied by Judge Osama al-Junaid, Head of the Military Court of the First, Second, Third, and Fourth Military Regions. The visit included a briefing from Major General Judge Abdul-Latif al-Ayani, Director of the Military Judiciary Department and Military Prosecutor General, on the received cases and procedural progress.

Judge al-Houthi examined prisoner movement records, admissions, releases, detention durations, and judicial rulings. He addressed complex cases and issues involving insolvent individuals due to blood money and compensations, aiming to expedite their resolution on the occasion of the Prophet's birth anniversary.

The delegation listened to prisoner complaints and explored settlement possibilities with lawsuit parties to facilitate releases, with directives issued for some prisoners' release.

The Public Prosecutor emphasized that these prison visits align with directives from the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, and the President of the Supreme Political Council, highlighting leadership concern for prisoner issues.

He further noted that the Prophet's birth anniversary is a time to reflect on mercy and justice values, prompting the initiative to release eligible prisoners. He assured that releases follow precise legal procedures, ensuring justice is upheld.

Judge al-Houthi asserted that these releases exemplify tolerance and demonstrate Yemeni society's adherence to the Prophet's values of mercy and forgiveness.
