Sana'a: The General Authority for Water Resources and Facilities branch in Ibb province conducted a field visit to the Jubala area in Al-Dhahar district to observe the ongoing work to remove previously identified pollution sources during monitoring activities.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Director of the Authority's branch in the province, Mohammed Al-Warafi, explained that work is underway to eliminate pollution causes resulting from a sewage network in the area, and to connect subsidiary lines to the main network in accordance with technical requirements and standards, in order to address irregularities and remove pollution sources.
He noted the rapid response of the implementing entity carrying out the remediation work, under the follow-up of the Authority's branch, to ensure the protection of water resources from pollution and to enhance efforts aimed at preserving the environment and community health.
Al-Warafi affirmed that the Authority's branch will continue field monitoring and follow up on the removal of pollution sources, taking necessary legal measures against anyone proven to be involved in any activities leading to the pollution or damage of water resources.
He pointed out that the Authority is currently working on conducting a comprehensive survey of pollution sources in Al-Dhahar and Al-Mashannah districts, and preparing a follow-up plan to address and remove them according to priorities for protecting water resources and mitigating their environmental impacts.
The head of the Technical Committee at the branch, Ismail Al-Sabahi, participated in the visit.
