Sana'a: Acting Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, Ammar Al-Karim, reviewed the activities of the Central Veterinary Laboratory and its programs aimed at serving the livestock sector.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Acting Minister received a briefing from the Deputy Minister for the Livestock Sector, Dr. Abdulraouf Al-Shawkani, regarding the current work levels and reforms implemented at the laboratory. The briefing also included details on mechanisms for development and enhancements to improve overall performance.
Dr. Al-Shawkani explained the workflow and testing procedures conducted in the laboratory's departments, which are managed by specialized technicians. He also discussed the needs and challenges the laboratory faces, particularly concerning the disposal of medical waste and animal necropsy by-products.
During the visit, the Acting Minister emphasized the laboratory's critical role in testing animal diseases, feed, and animal products, ensuring their safety and compliance with health standards. He called for increased efforts to leverage modern technologies to enhance the laboratory's activities and functions.
Al-Karim reiterated the ministry's commitment to supporting the laboratory, aiming to strengthen its role in serving and protecting the country's livestock sector.
