Sa'ada: Sa'ada University honored the winners of its Creativity and Scientific Research Award in its second edition for the year 1447 AH / 2025, coinciding with the closing events of the annual Martyrs' Commemoration.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the honoring ceremony, the Secretary-General of the Local Council in the governorate, Mohammed Al-Emad, commended the university's efforts and its successful steps in scientific research. He also acknowledged the university's resilience in continuing the educational process despite the systematic targeting of its infrastructure by the U.S.-Saudi-Emirati aggression.
Al-Emad expressed his support for the establishment of the award, which fosters scientific research and development. He called for the promotion of research across various institutions and ministries, and congratulated the winners in the different award categories.
In a statement by Dr. Mohammed Al-Duraib, Supervisor of the Scientific Committee, the university emphasized that the award aims to inspire university staff, students, researchers, and community members to excel in various fields of the award. This initiative seeks to enhance academic performance, ensure the quality of educational outcomes, and promote excellence and creativity.
Dr. Al-Duraib revealed that 17 participants were recognized across five fields: scientific research, research papers and graduation projects, manuscript verification, the Holy Quran, and poetry composition. He also reviewed the preparation efforts undertaken by the university and evaluators for the honoring ceremony.
He stressed the moral and motivational value of the award for all creative and outstanding individuals in its various fields, highlighting the scientific and intellectual benefits that the results and innovations of researchers and creators bring to society.
In a speech delivered by Dr. Ali Quradha on behalf of the winners, the significance of the award in encouraging scientific research was underscored.
