Sana’a City and Provinces Launch Youth Sports Activities for Prophet’s Birthday

Sana'a: Tomorrow, Sunday, the Sana'a City and several governorates will commence youth events and sports activities organized by the Youth and Sports Offices in celebration of the Prophet's birthday, in coordination with the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

According to Yemen News Agency, Minister of Youth and Sports and Chairman of the Supreme Supervisory Committee, Dr. Mohammed Al-Mawlid, stated that many governorates have already initiated their youth and sports activities for this occasion, while the remaining regions will start their events tomorrow.

The activities planned for the celebration include football competitions, running races, and a variety of other sports. Additionally, cultural and social programs such as cultural competitions, awareness programs, solidarity stands, volunteer initiatives, and cleanliness campaigns will be conducted. These events will take place from district levels to governorate levels, culminating in central competitions at the national level.

Minister Al-Mawlid assured that the ministry has adequately prepared the necessary sports equipment to ensure the competitions are efficiently organized for all participants. He highlighted the crucial role of youth and athletes in these events, emphasizing their engagement in commemorating religious and national occasions and contributing positively to the community.

The programs are designed to underscore the role of youth and athletes in reinforcing the authentic faith identity and promoting values of solidarity and giving. They aim to exhibit the widespread public participation of Yemenis in marking the anniversary of the birth of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). Dr. Al-Mawlid encouraged youth to actively take part in all activities and volunteer initiatives, fostering religious and social commitment and enhancing their contribution to the community.

He pointed out that the events will see extensive involvement from clubs, sports federations, and youth and community organizations. This reflects the ongoing collaboration between the Ministry and the youth and sports sector to provide quality activities for the celebration. The involvement of youth and sports illustrates a deep connection to the life of the Noble Prophet and expresses loyalty, reinforcing the unifying values of the Yemeni people in their celebration of this occasion.
