Sana'a: The Specialized Criminal Court of First Instance in the capital Sanaa on Sunday sentenced two men to death after convicting them of kidnapping and killing a girl in the Hizyaz area of Sanaa.
According to Yemen News Agency, the verdict was issued at a hearing presided over by Judge Adnan Al-Makhadhi and attended by Public Prosecution member Judge Ahmed Al-Sharai and court secretary Mohammed Al-Hammadi. The court found Mohammed Ali Hussein Saad and Turki Ayed Mohammed Sagheer guilty of premeditated murder and kidnapping as charged.
The court sentenced both men to death by firing squad in retribution for the intentional and unlawful kidnapping and killing of the victim. The ruling also ordered the confiscation of the motorcycle used in the crime and its transfer to the victim's heirs in compensation for litigation costs and expenses.
The prosecution stated that the first defendant, 20, a motorcycle driver, and the second, 19, a worker, committed the kidnapping and murder in July 2025 after plotting to lure the victim and rob her belongings. They used the first defendant's motorcycle to take her to his home, where the second defendant joined him in assaulting her, strangling and beating her until she died. The two men then stole and sold her gold jewelry and concealed her body inside a cloth bag.
