Sana’a Launches Faith Identity School Football League in al-Wahda

Sana'a: The Education Zone in al-Wahda district of the capital Sana'a inaugurated the 'Faith Identity' school football league for students of public and private schools in the district. The event took place on Saturday and is set to involve a large number of participants.

According to Yemen News Agency, the tournament is organized under the supervision of the Education Sector and local mobilization authorities. It features 63 teams from primary and secondary schools competing in a knockout format across three fields. This initiative is seen as a significant step in promoting sports activities and fostering a sense of faith-based identity among the youth.

Abdullah Samina, Director of Activities at the Education Sector, stated that the league aims to promote sports activities and strengthen faith-based identity among youth. He urged participants to uphold sportsmanship and the tournament's motto: 'Faith is Yemeni, Wisdom is Yemeni.'

Education Zone Director Mulataf al-Matari emphasized the role of sports in students' physical, intellectual, and skill development. He highlighted the importance of preserving Yemen's faith-based identity and promoting Quranic awareness, indicating the broader educational objectives of the league.

The event also underscored the importance of protecting youth from destructive ideologies and cultural influences. It encouraged young participants to embrace religious, national, and cultural values, ensuring that the tournament serves as a platform for both athletic and moral development.
