Sana’a Officials Convene to Enhance Local Governance and Service Delivery

Sana'a: The administrative body of Sana'a governorate Local Council, under the leadership of Governor Abdulbasit Al-Hadi, convened to discuss evaluation reports and strategize on improving executive and service performance within the governorate.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting, which included the participation of Local Council Secretary-General Abdulqader Al-Jilani and administrative body members Abdulsalam Al-Jaifi and Mahyoub Mahdi, focused on reviewing the implementation of outcomes and recommendations from the Cleaning and Improvement Fund's Board of Directors meeting. The discussions highlighted the urgent need to enhance the governorate's urban and aesthetic appeal and to improve services provided to citizens.

The council also examined a report concerning the Presidential Committee's observations on the governorate's projects and plans for 1445-1446 AH. The emphasis was on addressing existing shortcomings and integrating the committee's feedback into future plans and projects. Additionally, key observations from an evaluation of local authority activities during the first half of 1447 AH were reviewed, based on a memorandum from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local and Rural Development.

The administrative body reiterated its commitment to resolving identified issues and rectifying shortcomings to enhance the efficiency of executive bodies, thereby serving the public interest more effectively. Governor Al-Hadi underscored the importance of the supervisory role in overcoming challenges, facilitating work, correcting errors, and addressing deficiencies in accordance with the Presidential Committee's observations. He also stressed the necessity of reinforcing financial and oversight mechanisms during the implementation of development projects.
