Sana'a: The Council of Sana'a University, in its meeting today chaired by University President Dr. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, discussed a range of academic, student affairs, and postgraduate studies issues, and adopted the appropriate decisions.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Council, which included the university's vice presidents, assistants, and deans of faculties, approved granting public universities two seats during the current academic year in postgraduate specializations and programs not available in those universities-one seat for a master's program and another for a PhD program.
The Council also approved the reopening of the Executive Master's Program, in addition to the Academic Master's Program in Public Administration at the Public Administration Center, and amended the name of the University Center for Students with Special Needs to the Center for People with Disabilities.
Further decisions included the approval of the results of a number of master's and doctoral students. The Council decided against contracting any faculty members from outside the university to teach courses unless they are unavailable within the university's faculties. Additionally, it approved the regularization and settlement of the status of twenty faculty members across several colleges.
In other developments, the Council reviewed the university's draft media strategy and the project for developing and updating the websites of faculties and centers. The university's electronic platform (portal) project, presented by the Digital Transformation Center, was also discussed.
