Al-Hazm:Sanaa Government spokesman Dr. Omar Al-Bukhaiti has strongly condemned a deadly attack by the Saudi forces at Al-Hazm Market in Al-Jawf Governorate. The assault occurred during peak shopping hours and resulted in the deaths of 14 civilians and injuries to 15 others, including three women.
According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Al-Bukhaiti described the Saudi regime's actions as a grave violation of Islamic principles and international norms. He equated the assault on Yemenis to the Israeli actions against the people of Gaza, highlighting that the attack on the public market represents a fully-fledged war crime aimed at inflicting maximum harm on Yemen's civilian population.
The spokesman outlined that this massacre is part of a 12-year pattern of brutal crimes against Yemenis, occurring in places of civilian life such as mosques, markets, and wedding halls. Dr. Al-Bukhaiti criticized the silence of governments and international organizations, particularly the United Nations and the Security Council, accusing them of complicity in the bloodshed through their inaction.
He further condemned countries that support what he termed as Saudi false allegations against Yemen, asserting that their stance encourages further aggression. Dr. Al-Bukhaiti emphasized that these crimes will not go unpunished and reiterated Yemen's readiness, alongside its armed forces, to confront the aggressor until the aggression and blockade are lifted.
