Sana'a: The Spokesperson of the Government of Change and Construction, Dr. Omar Al-Bukhaity, has strongly condemned the attack by Saudi aircraft on the Central Correctional Facility in Al-Hazm District, Al-Jawf Governorate. This assault resulted in the death and injury of 14 inmates, including a child and a woman, with the toll expected to rise.
According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Al-Bukhaity stated that this attack is a continuation of the violent actions perpetrated by the Saudi regime against the Yemeni people over 12 years of ongoing aggression and siege. He highlighted that the Saudi forces have consistently targeted civilians, including homes, hospitals, and markets, causing immense harm to women and children.
Dr. Al-Bukhaity emphasized that the recent attack on a civilian correctional facility, which is protected under international law, represents a violation of all international norms. He insisted that the Saudi regime must bear full responsibility for this act and assured that it will not go unpunished.
The spokesperson criticized the international community for its silence and complicity in the face of the Saudi regime's actions, suggesting that this silence signifies a failure of international law in upholding human rights. He extended condolences to the families of those killed and expressed hopes for a swift recovery for the injured. The government, he assured, is working diligently to address the aftermath of the attack and assist the victims.
