Saada:Footage released on Thursday shows a Saudi Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jet being targeted and hit by a locally manufactured surface-to-air missile in the skies over Saada province, north of Yemen.
According to Yemen News Agency, the footage also captured the moment the Saudi fighter attempted to deploy thermal flares to evade the attack. Despite these efforts, the missile struck the aircraft directly, resulting in its complete destruction. The footage further suggested that the aircraft might have crashed inside Saudi territory.
The Eurofighter Typhoon is a prominent European fighter jet, known for its high maneuverability and capability to conduct both fighter and strike missions. Developed through a joint project involving the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, and Spain, the aircraft is operated by several air forces worldwide, including those of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar.
