Hajjah: The Department of Sharia and Law at Al-Manar University College in Hajjah province organized on Thursday, in conjunction with the Prophet's Birthday, a seminar titled 'The Cry of International Law for Humanitarian Justice.'
According to Yemen News Agency, during the event, Deputy Governor Mohammed Al-Qadhi praised the role of Al-Manar University College in hosting the first seminar of its kind at the level of Yemeni universities to shed light on the crimes committed by the Zionist enemy against children and women in Gaza, as well as the legal violations in this regard.
In the first session, titled 'Gaza and Yemen: Unity of Stance, Vision, and Methodology,' Judge Abdul Majeed Sharaf Al-Din, Director of the Local Branch of the Grievances Redress Authority, reviewed the sincere positions of the Yemeni leadership, army, and people in solidarity with their brothers in Gaza, and in defying the United States and Israel. He discussed the role of the media in exposing the crimes and daily violations of the occupying entity against innocent civilians in Gaza, while also highlighting biased media outlets that serve the enemies by covering up massacres, portraying criminals as victims, and labeling those defending their land and honor as terrorists.
He also referred to international laws, the UN Charter, the International Court of Justice, and international criminal law that guarantee the right to self-determination, noting the attempts by the Zionists, the US, and their allies to prosecute judges of the International Criminal Court who have rejected the ongoing violations and aggression in Gaza.
Dr. Abdul Khaliq Al-Feel, Professor of Public Law at the Police College and Head of the Sharia and Law Department at Al-Manar University College, addressed the manipulation of international law by global arrogance. He stressed that the crimes of aggression in Gaza constitute complete war crimes under international law, yet the tyrants of the age apply these laws against the victims and oppressed, rather than the killers and criminals.
Abdullah Miyah, Dean of the Local Branch of the University of Quranic Sciences, pointed out that Yemenis' stance in supporting Al-Aqsa and their brothers in Gaza stems from their adherence to the Book of Allah, the authentic Muhammadan path, and following the example of the Messenger of mercy in defending the oppressed.
In the seminar, which was attended by the Chairman of the College Board of Trustees, Abdullah Al-Haddad, and Registrar General, Mohammed Al-Haddad, students Ilham Yaeesh and Khawla Al-Ashram stressed the importance of introducing Palestinian cause-related courses into universities and colleges to raise awareness of the injustices faced by the Palestinian people, particularly in Gaza.
They addressed the flagrant violations of international law committed by Israel, the US, and the regimes normalizing ties with them, as well as the ongoing crimes of the occupying entity since its inception, including systematic killing, destruction, and oppression, as though it is beyond the scope of international law.
The students reviewed violations such as targeting civilians, systematic bombing and destruction, the use of internationally prohibited weapons, forced displacement, settlement expansion, inhumane treatment of prisoners, and the silence of the international community. They affirmed that occupation is illegitimate, that rights do not die, and that justice, though delayed, will inevitably prevail.
The seminar's recommendations called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibility, take action to stop the crimes and aggression, and urged the UN Security Council to move beyond issuing statements and adopt binding and decisive resolutions to halt the aggression.
It emphasized that Islamic and Arab unity in the legal and political arenas is the most effective path to supporting Palestine, calling on lawyers, legal professionals, and free people worldwide to continue documenting crimes and filing cases before judicial bodies.
The seminar proposed launching an international initiative under the slogan 'Justice for Palestine,' rejecting all forms of normalization with the occupying entity, and affirming that supporting the Palestinian people is a religious, humanitarian, and legal duty. It also praised the global academic movement witnessed in 130 American and European universities in solidarity with Gaza.
