Seminar Commemorates Scholar Sayyid Badr al-Din al-Houthi in Ibb

Sana'a: A cultural seminar was held on Saturday in Ibb Governorate to commemorate the anniversary of the passing of the scholar Sayyid Badr al-Din Amir al-Din al-Houthi, under the slogan 'Badr al-Huda' (The Moon of Guidance). The event highlighted various aspects of his scholarly life and his contributions towards strengthening Quranic culture and faith-based awareness.

According to Yemen News Agency, the seminar featured discussions on the intellectual legacy of Sayyid Badr al-Din al-Houthi. Abdul Fattah Ghalab, the governorate's mobilization official, led the first session, focusing on the key milestones of al-Houthi's life, along with his scholarly and advocacy efforts. Ghalab emphasized the intellectual and cultural contributions of al-Houthi's writings, which enriched the Islamic library and increased awareness of national issues.

Ghalab remarked that commemorating this anniversary allows individuals to draw inspiration from the values and principles that al-Houthi embodied, especially his commitment to truth and national causes. He described al-Houthi as a unique scholar who combined knowledge with principled stances, dedicating his life to serving the religion and disseminating the knowledge of the Holy Qur'an.

In the second session, cultural activist Hisham Wajih al-Din discussed the educational and scholarly struggles of Sayyid Badr al-Din al-Houthi. He highlighted al-Houthi's role in raising his children with a foundation of faith and awareness, instilling values of resilience and steadfastness in confronting challenges. Al-Din acknowledged the Quranic project that emerged from al-Houthi's teachings, emphasizing its role in raising awareness about the dangers of hegemony and arrogance while promoting a culture of liberation and adherence to the nation's faith identity.

The seminar concluded with reflections on the lessons and insights from the life of Sayyid Badr al-Din al-Houthi. It celebrated his model as a righteous scholar whose intellectual work was complemented by practical stances, embodying sincerity, dedication, and steadfastness throughout various stages and circumstances.
