Sana'a: Shabab Markha of Shabwa pulled off a major upset by eliminating Al-Yarmouk from the Round of 64 of the Republic Cup, after securing a 1-0 victory in the match held this afternoon at Al-Thawra Stadium in the capital, Sana'a.

According to Yemen News Agency, the first half of the match, attended by Deputy Minister of Local Administration and Rural Development Nasser Al-Mahdhar, Shabwa Governor Awad Al-Awlaki, and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth for the Sports Sector Ali Hadban, ended in a goalless draw despite several scoring opportunities, leaving the decision to the second half.

Early in the second half, the visiting side scored the decisive goal through Salem Al-Jamili, who sparked celebrations for his team and supporters, sealing Shabab Markha's qualification to the Round of 32.
