Inspection of Employee Discipline in Several Offices in Ibb Following Eid Holiday

Sana'a: Secretary-General of the Local Council in Ibb Governorate, Amin Al-Warafi, inspected on Saturday the level of employee discipline and workflow at the governorate's General Office and a number of executive and service offices on the first official working day following the Eid al-Adha holiday.

According to Yemen News Agency, the visit, attended by Deputy Governor Qasim Al-Masawa and Director of the Civil Service Office Mohammed Ablan, included the branch of the Yemen Petroleum Company, the Planning and Development Sector, the branch of the General Authority for Insurance and Pensions, the Offices of Tribal Affairs and Environmental Protection, the Executive Unit for Projects, and the Information Center.

During the visit, the officials received briefings from Director of the Yemen Petroleum Company branch Engineer Mohammed Al-Ashram, Director of the Planning Office Kamal Al-Harithi, Director of the General Authority for Insurance and Pensions branch Fayez Al-Ghaithi, Director of the Executive Unit for Projects Engineer Khaled Al-Salahi, Director of the Information Center Diaa Mohsen, and Director of the Environmental Protection Office Dr. Naji Al-Nahmi. The briefings covered the level of administrative discipline, implementation of plans, programs, and efforts to facilitate citizens' transactions and improve services.

Al-Warafi affirmed that the high rate of employee attendance reflects a strong sense of responsibility among public sector employees and embodies the stability and social cohesion prevailing in the governorate. He praised government employees for their dedication and commitment to performing their duties despite the exceptional circumstances facing the country.

He noted that the current stage requires intensified efforts and improved institutional performance in line with the National Vision for State Building, enhancing the efficiency of services provided to citizens. He called on all employees to maintain discipline and commitment while continuously improving performance to meet community needs and alleviate public hardships.

Meanwhile, Shura Council member Nabil Al-Hubaishi and Deputy Governor Sadiq Hamzah inspected employee discipline at the Financial Complex, which houses the Finance and Tax Offices, the Real Estate Revenue and Qat Tax Units, the branch of the General Authority for Lands, Survey and Urban Planning, and the Telecommunications Corporation branch. Accompanied by Deputy Governor Harith Al-Mulaiki, they also reviewed work progress at the Land Transport Affairs Office.

The officials received briefings from Director of the Finance Office Saleh Lurasas, Director of the Tax Office Moeen Al-Shulaif, Director of the Real Estate Revenue Unit Ibrahim Makram, Director of the Lands Authority branch Engineer Zayed Badeer, Director of the Telecommunications Corporation branch Engineer Mohiuddin Al-Mansouri, and Director of the Land Transport Affairs Office Noman Al-Durwani. The presentations addressed compliance with official working hours through the electronic fingerprint attendance system and employee presence across various departments to fulfill duties and serve citizens.

Al-Hubaishi and Hamzah stressed the importance of employee discipline in enhancing the efficiency of state institutions and improving public services. They emphasized the need to address challenges facing government agencies and enable them to perform their responsibilities more effectively, thereby benefiting citizens.

In a separate visit, Deputy Governor Abdulwahid Al-Marawi inspected employee discipline at the Public Works and Roads Office. He received a briefing from the office director, Engineer Ibrahim Al-Shami, on workflow, implementation of tasks, and field plans, emphasizing the importance of strengthening institutional performance and enhancing monitoring and follow-up mechanisms to improve public services.

Deputy Governor Al-Masawa also inspected employee discipline at the Offices of Economy and Industry, the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation, and the branches of the General Authority for Rural Water Projects, Water Resources Authority, Standards and Metrology and Quality Control Authority, and the Slaughterhouses Corporation.

During the visits, Al-Masawa received a briefing from Director of the General Authority for Rural Water Projects Engineer Sadiq Al-Qamaz on attendance and achievements across various departments, as well as the progress of service projects. He explained that the authority had completed 415 projects across the governorate's districts, while efforts continue to resume and complete 63 stalled projects.

He also discussed with the leadership of the Local Water Corporation and the Water Resources Authority branch ways to improve performance and services. Director of the Local Water Corporation Engineer Majed Hussein Al-Shami outlined efforts to ensure uninterrupted water services and round-the-clock operations to meet subscribers' needs. Meanwhile, Director of the Water Resources Authority branch Mohammed Al-Warafi reviewed work carried out during the Eid holiday and progress on establishing a laboratory for testing water quality in stations and wells.

The Deputy Governor praised the commitment and discipline demonstrated by employees in the offices and institutions visited, commending their efforts, particularly those entities that continued providing services during the Eid holiday. He also highlighted the notable improvement in the performance of the Offices of Economy, Industry and Investment, and Standards and Metrology, as well as the positive outcomes achieved through field market inspection campaigns conducted during Eid. He stressed the importance of promoting integrity, discipline, and a culture of responsibility in the workplace.

Mohammed Ablan, Director of the Governorate Civil Service and Administrative Development Office, told the Yemen News Agency that attendance in administrative units and public and mixed-sector institutions across the governorate reached 94 percent on the first working day after the Eid holiday.

He added that the office had assigned 45 representatives to conduct field visits to offices, administrative units, and districts to monitor performance and employee discipline. He confirmed that oversight committees would continue their work in the coming days to ensure compliance with official working hours and enhance administrative efficiency across government institutions in the governorate.
