Sana'a: Yemen's Shura Council strongly condemned the recent Israeli attack on Hodeidah Port and its civilian infrastructure, calling it a blatant violation of international and humanitarian law as well as Yemen's sovereignty.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Council issued a statement describing the aggression as 'a desperate and bankrupt move' by the Israeli entity, which it said has failed to break the will of the Yemeni people or deter their principled and religious stance in support of Palestinians facing genocide and starvation in Gaza.
The Council emphasized that continued Israeli aggression will only strengthen Yemen's resolve to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people, who are facing daily attacks amid a lack of response from the international, Arab, and Islamic communities. This silence, the Council noted, has emboldened Israel to intensify its actions.
Additionally, the Council praised the Yemeni Armed Forces for their military operations targeting Israeli positions, describing these actions as a direct response that highlights Yemen's military readiness and commitment to defending its sovereignty and public assets.
The Shura Council also renewed its call to the Association of Senates, Shura and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World, along with the international community and global advocates of justice, to condemn the Israeli actions against Yemen and to take urgent measures to halt Israel's tactics and actions against civilians in Gaza.
