Sana'a: Shura Council strongly condemned on Saturday the continued disregard and contempt shown by the Saudi regime towards the legitimate and just demands of the Yemeni people, foremost among them the immediate lifting of the comprehensive and unjust blockade that has been in place for more than 12 years.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Council explained that while a responsible approach and response to these humanitarian demands, guaranteed by international laws and conventions, were expected, the Saudi regime has escalated its aggression by targeting civilian infrastructure and vital service facilities, beginning with the attack on Sana'a International Airport and culminating in the direct bombing of the city and port of Hodeidah and Kamaran Island, in a renewed insistence on deepening the humanitarian tragedy and exacerbating the suffering of the Yemeni people.
This escalation and the targeting of infrastructure and service facilities are considered criminal acts, completely unacceptable, and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law. The Yemeni leadership and people will under no circumstances accept these violations, nor will they accept surrender or attempts at subjugation, regardless of the consequences.
The Council reiterated the Yemeni people's steadfast commitment to their legitimate rights, foremost among them the lifting of the blockade on ports and airports, the end of the aggression, and the withdrawal of all occupying forces from Yemeni lands and islands.
