Six Players Qualify for Quarterfinals of Table Tennis Tournament for Ministry of Youth Employees

Sana'a: The table tennis tournament for employees of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Youth and Children Care Fund, for the Mawlid al-Nabawi Cup, continues in Sana'a. The tournament is organized by the ministry with support from the Technical Committee for Activities and Summer Courses.

According to Yemen News Agency, the round of 16 matches resulted in the qualification of six players to the quarterfinals (round of eight), following highly competitive and exciting encounters.

Abbas Al-Madoumi advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Fouad Al-Shara'i two sets to one, while Essam Dreiban overcame his opponent Abdulwahid Al-Shahidhi in straight sets. The runner-up of the previous edition, Khaled Al-Batoul, defeated Essam Al-Qassous in straight sets.

Adel Farhan also advanced to the same stage with a straight-sets victory over Adel Al-Ladani. Abdulrahman Al-Hatami won his match against Mohammed Al-Bahri two sets to one, and by the same result, Sadiq Al-Salwi defeated Adnan Al-Kawkabani. Majed Al-Mu'allimi secured his place among the top eight by overcoming Ali Al-Sawari.

The round of 16 will conclude with two more matches: the first between Ahmed Zayed and Basel Awad, and the second between the previous edition's champion, Hamza Saleh, and Sadiq Al-Salwi, to complete the golden square and the list of quarterfinalists.

The tournament's organizing committee is headed by Abbas Al-Madoumi, with Essam Dreiban as his deputy.
