Speech & Cultural Event at September 21 University Commemorates Prophet’s Birthday

Sanaa: The Faculties of Applied Medical Sciences and Higher Nursing at the University of September 21 for Medical and Applied Sciences, in cooperation with the University Student Forum, organized on Tuesday a speech and cultural event to mark the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday.

According to Yemen News Agency, University President Dr. Mujahid Maasaar highlighted the greatness of the occasion and its place in the hearts of Yemenis, who throughout history have expressed their love and deep connection to the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family, by following his guidance and walking in his righteous path. He stressed that commemorating this anniversary represents an opportunity for awareness, from which the Yemeni people draw dignity, honor, and steadfastness, while also drawing lessons in adhering to the Prophet's teachings, remembering his noble life, upholding the values and principles he carried as a messenger sent to perfect noble morals, guide people to truth and righteousness.

Dr. Maasaar affirmed that the university is keen to revive this occasion in a manner that reflects the values of peace and mercy brought by the Prophet, praising the efforts of the college deans, faculty members, staff, and students who contributed to making the event a true embodiment of connection with the Prophet.

For his part, Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Jameel Mujalli underlined that the significance of this occasion in Yemen lies in the sense of responsibility it instills at both individual and community levels to revive the Prophet's traditions, follow his example, and uphold the principles he established in justice, sacrifice, and altruism.

Meanwhile, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, Dr. Abdul-Salam Dallaq, emphasized the university's commitment to commemorating such important religious occasions that reinforce faith and Islamic identity among students. He also stressed the importance of adhering to the Prophet's guidance in confronting challenges, resisting oppression and tyranny.

Dr. Dallaq further condemned the massacres of killing and starvation being carried out by the Zionist entity against the Palestinian people in Gaza amid disgraceful silence from Arab, Islamic, and international actors. He reaffirmed the university's unwavering stance in supporting the resilience of the Palestinian people and standing by the Palestinian cause as the central cause of the nation.

The event also featured a lecture on the Prophet's biography, highlighting its values of mercy and striving in the cause of God, along with performances of expressive chants and poetic recitations.
