957 Medical Graduates in Hodeidah Participate in First Competency Exam for 2025

Hodeidah: A total of 957 graduates in medical specialties holding bachelor's and diploma degrees in Hodeidah Governorate sat on Thursday for the first 2025 competency exam for practicing the profession, organized by the Medical Council in coordination with Hodeidah University.

According to Yemen News Agency, President of the Medical Council, Dr. Mujahid Masar, explained during his inspection of the exam proceedings that 121 bachelor's degree holders took the test, distributed as follows: Medical Laboratories (29), Dentistry (18), Nursing (35), Human Medicine (27), and Clinical Pharmacy (12).

He added that 836 diploma holders also participated, including: Medical Assistant (268), Midwifery (188), Nursing (159), Pharmacy (88), Medical Laboratories (84), Surgery Operations (15), Dental Assistant (18), and Emergency Care (16).

Masar stressed that holding the exam aims to assess the competence of medical and health cadres and ensure their readiness for fieldwork, thereby helping reduce medical errors and improving the quality of healthcare services provided to the community. He noted that tomorrow, over 838 medical and health professionals in Ibb Governorate holding bachelor's and diploma degrees will take the first 2025 competency exam.

He pointed out that obtaining a license to practice the profession serves as proof of a medical professional's success, ability, and reliability, adding that the uniqueness of the medical profession lies in its direct connection to human life.

Masar praised the efforts of Hodeidah University's leadership, represented by its President, Dr. Mohammed Al-Ahdal, his deputies, and the university's supervisory staff for their excellent organization and provision of a calm environment for the examinees.

For his part, the President of Hodeidah University commended the distinguished relationship between the university and the Supreme Medical Council and the trust it enjoys in organizing professional licensing exams, which contributes to enhancing the quality of health education outcomes.
