Sana'a: The local authority, the Youth and Sports Office, and the education sector in Arhab District have launched sports activities and the Al-Rasoul Al-Azam Football Tournament to commemorate the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammed.
According to Yemen News Agency, Deputy Director of the Governorate's Youth and Sports Office, Abdulmohsen Al-Sharif, emphasized the importance of maintaining sports activities as a crucial step towards revitalizing the sports movement and nurturing young talents. He acknowledged the challenges sports activities face due to ongoing aggression and blockades.
Arhab District Director Khaled Al-Aqeedah highlighted the significance of honoring the Prophet Mohammed and commemorating his birth through meaningful cultural and religious activities. The launch event featured student performances and speeches underlining the occasion's importance to the Yemeni people.
The opening match saw Al-Sinwar triumph over Yemen Al-Sumoud with a score of 5-2. The event was attended by Deputy District Mobilization Official Kathir Al-Obaidi, Education Sector Official Abduljaleel Awwad, District Youth and Sports Office Director Majed Ghanem, and several executive office directors, educators, and social figures.
Simultaneously, the Al-Rasoul Al-Azam Football Tournament commenced in Saafan District, organized by the district's Youth and Sports Office under the supervision of the Governorate Youth and Sports Office, in collaboration with local authorities, mobilization officials, and the district's Development Association.
During the opening, District Director Mohammed Al-Bahr emphasized the youth's role in commemorating the Prophet's birth anniversary through sports, cultural, scouting, and social activities. District Youth and Sports Office Director Abdulazim Zaqeel stated that the tournament includes eight teams, each representing one of the district's localities, divided into two groups. He highlighted the importance of such activities in commemorating the Prophet's birth anniversary and their role in developing young talents.
The opening match between Al-Noor Al-Mohammadi and Al-Mustafa concluded with a 5-2 victory for Al-Noor Al-Mohammadi.
