Sana'a: The Ministry of Youth and Sports team qualified for the semifinals of the second Martyr President Saleh Al-Sammad Football Tournament, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports for ministries, agencies, and government institutions.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Ministry of Youth team secured their spot in the semifinals after defeating the Ministry of Finance team 4-2 in a penalty shootout, following a goalless draw at the end of regulation time. The match was held yesterday afternoon at Al-Dharrafi Stadium in Sana'a.
The Ministry of Economy team also advanced to the semifinals by defeating the Public Prosecution team in a penalty shootout, after another goalless draw.
The match was officiated by a refereeing team consisting of Mustafa Abdel Ghani as the main referee, Awad Al-Tiri and Ahmed Mukhtar as assistant referees, and Osama Al-Nashad as the fourth official.
The quarter-final matches conclude today with a match between the Ministry of Health team and the Capital Governorate team.
