Sana'a: The Yemeni Authority for Standardization, Metrology, and Quality Control convened a meeting on Tuesday to address challenges facing gold jewelry traders and workshops. Chaired by the Authority's Executive Director, Sam Al-Bashiri, the meeting was attended by gold shop owners and craftsmen. The discussions centered on the Authority's efforts to resolve issues within the sector.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Bashiri emphasized the Authority's commitment to streamlining services and simplifying procedures to support commercial and industrial segments. This initiative aims to ensure consumer protection against fraud while enhancing the national economy. He underscored the Authority's provision of comprehensive logistical, administrative, and technical resources to deliver optimal services and consultations in this field, with a focus on the legal aspects of proposed solutions.
Al-Bashiri urged stakeholders to promptly register on the "Tasheel" (Facilitation) e-portal and utilize the Electronic Gold and Precious Metals System. This platform is designed to enable traders to obtain services efficiently, thus saving significant time and effort. He further warned that the Authority "will not tolerate any manipulation of weights or legal standards" at gold jewelry outlets.
