Sana'a: The Supreme Commission for Elections and Referendum organized a protest on Tuesday condemning the repeated and systematic insults by global Zionism and its arms against the Holy Qur'an. Participants in the stand, attended by the Deputy Head of the Commission, the Secretary-General, members, and staff, chanted slogans denouncing the deliberate desecration of the Holy Qur'an, the source of guidance, honor, and dignity for the nation.
According to Yemen News Agency, they considered the act of the American criminal 'Jake Lang' of burning a copy of the Book of Allah Almighty as an image that reveals the level of hatred and hostility held by the US-Zionist project toward the sacred symbols of the Islamic nation. A statement issued by the event affirmed that these protests taking place in Yemen at both official and popular levels express a clear faith-based position and a religious responsibility that does not tolerate negligence regarding this heinous crime committed by the American perpetrator.
It noted that the repeated insults are not isolated incidents or individual acts, but part of a comprehensive and systematic campaign targeting the Holy Qur'an, aiming to undermine its sanctity in the hearts of Muslims and to strike at the identity of the nation by severing it from the source of its honor and strength. The statement also emphasized adherence to the Holy Qur'an, the eternal Book of Allah and its righteous guidance, noting that any insult to the Qur'an is a direct assault on the Islamic nation and will not be tolerated, accepted, or allowed to pass under any deceptive pretext such as 'freedom of expression' or other false slogans-especially since such slogans collapse when directed against the Zionist enemy in America and Western countries.
It strongly condemned the American crime against the Holy Qur'an, holding the United States, Britain, and the Zionist enemy fully responsible for repeated insults that reflect hostility toward Islam and Muslims, consistent with their record of aggression, occupation, violation of sanctities, and the unjust killing of innocents and prophets. The statement reaffirmed Yemen's steadfast position in support of the Palestinian people, readiness for any forthcoming round of confrontation with enemies, continued mobilization, popular engagement, and various activities, along with sustaining the boycott weapon tirelessly until victory is achieved.
