Sanaa: Wahda Sanaa team achieved its third consecutive victory in the first division football league, after defeating its neighbor Al Orooba by two goals to one in the match that brought them together this afternoon at Al Dharafi Stadium in Sanaa as part of the fourth round competitions.
According to Yemen News Agency, Wahda Sanaa managed to score the opening goal through defender Mohammed Al Batoul, who exploited a defensive lapse in Al Orooba’s defense to place the ball into Al Orooba’s net in the 38th minute.
In the second half, Al Orooba equalized in the 51st minute with a powerful shot from player Amjad Al Ridha that landed to the left of Wahda Sanaa’s goalkeeper Osama Makraf, before Abdulrahman Al Shami scored the second goal for Wahda Sanaa in the 58th minute, ending the match with a victory for the leader.
With this win, Wahda raised its points tally to nine, entering the competition for the top spot, while Al Orooba suffered its first defeat in the league, with its points tally also stopping at nine.
The fourth round competitions continue tomorrow, Wednesday afternoon, with a match bringing together Shabab Al Bayda team against Al Sadd Marib team at Al Dharafi Stadium in Sanaa.
