Khawlan: At a time when summer courses represent the correct and constructive direction to educate the new generation about the seriousness of the current stage and the challenges facing the Arab and Islamic nation, the summer schools in Khawlan district of Sana'a governorate, as their various activities near conclusion, are witnessing widespread movement and diverse events reflecting great interaction with their programs, with notable student attendance and active community and official participation.
According to Yemen News Agency, the implemented activities varied between cultural, creative, sports, agricultural, and health events, in addition to foot marches, recreational trips, and Quranic, chanting, and cultural competitions. Many students stood out with distinguished talents and abilities in the fields of oratory, drawing, and innovation, reflecting the success of summer courses in developing the skills of the youth, honing their abilities, and enhancing their connection to the faith-based identity and Quranic culture.
Amidst this serious interaction, the field committees under the district leadership continue to carry out inspection visits to summer schools to review the level of program and activity implementation, praising the turnout and interaction they witnessed, and the positive results achieved in building awareness, discovering talents, and developing students' abilities in various fields.
The district director and head of the supervisory committee for summer courses, Raad Al Jamali, explained that summer schools for Holy Quran memorization aim to provide lessons to students in the fields of Quran, interpretation, tajweed, and jurisprudence, in addition to awareness lectures about the Quran's encouragement to establish the values of solidarity among community members.
Meanwhile, the head of the educational sector and head of the executive committee for summer activities and courses in the district, Mohammed Tamish, pointed out that the importance of summer courses lies in scientifically and culturally fortifying male and female students and engaging them during the school holiday in programs and activities that develop their various abilities and skills.
Al Jamali and Tamish considered summer courses an opportunity to enhance awareness in confronting misguided and destructive ideas, countering extremism and fanaticism, developing and instilling the values and principles of national unity in the students' hearts, and creating a spirit of competition and construction.
Activities are not limited to trips and foot marches only, but most schools in the district have distinguished themselves by organizing scouting displays that reflected the level of interaction students achieve with summer programs and activities, embodying a spirit of discipline and enthusiasm, and confirming their direction towards seeking knowledge and participating in construction with insight, awareness, and jihad.
Those in charge of the courses pointed to the programmatic diversity accompanied by chants expressing the enrollees' connection to religious values and faith-based identity and their solidarity with the nation's causes, explaining the importance of scouting activities in developing students' abilities and enhancing their awareness as an essential part of summer courses programs.
