Sana'a: A football league for summer school students was launched on Sunday in the al-Jerraf al-Gharbi neighborhood of the al-Thawra district in the capital, Sana'a, under the slogan 'Knowledge and Jihad.'
According to Yemen News Agency, the two-week tournament brings together eight teams from summer schools, supervised by local education, youth, and mobilization authorities. The league aims to offer a platform where students can engage in sports while participating in educational and cultural activities.
The opening match featured a competitive game where Abu Khalil al-Moayad School managed a narrow victory over al-Hashhoush School with a score of 1-0. This event marks the beginning of a series of matches designed to foster teamwork and camaraderie among the students.
Officials have highlighted the importance of these summer programs, which are crafted to enrich youth skills, provide protection from negative influences, and strengthen values and awareness among the students. The integration of sports into the educational and cultural framework is seen as a vital element in the holistic development of young individuals in the district.
