Sana'a: The Supreme Elections and Referendum Committee launched today the activities commemorating the Prophet's Birthday for the year 1448 AH with a speech at its headquarters in Sana'a.
According to Yemen News Agency, the inauguration was attended by the Vice Chairman of the Committee, Judge Mohammed Al-Azir, and members of the committee. The Secretary-General of the Supreme Elections Committee, Mohammed Al-Jalal, discussed the preparations for commemorating the Prophet's birthday, emphasizing the importance of this occasion due to its connection to divine guidance and the message of Muhammad.
Al-Jalal reviewed the plan for implementing the events and activities at the committee's headquarters and its branches in the governorates, highlighting thorough preparation, organization, and promotion of broad participation. He stressed the need to follow the Prophet's example and embody his virtues and qualities in behavior and reality.
He also noted the deep connection of the people of Yemen to the Prophet and their historical role in supporting Islam and defending the Muslim community. The inauguration was attended by directors general and staff members of the Supreme Elections and Referendum Committee.
Following the event, the Supreme Elections Committee's mobilization committee organized a protest condemning the ongoing Saudi aggression and blockade against Yemen. Protest participants, along with the committee's leadership and directors general, affirmed their support for the decision to impose a maritime embargo on Saudi Arabia as part of the "blockade for blockade and escalation for escalation" equation.
