Sanaa: The Supreme Judicial Council has mourned the passing of Judge Mohammed Abdullah Al-Salami, the Head of the Supreme Commission for Elections and Referendum, who passed away at the age of 74 after a long career of dedicated service to the nation and the judiciary.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Council praised the virtues of the deceased, his dedication to fulfilling his duties, serving the country and justice, affirming that he was a model of an honest and responsible judge in all the assignments entrusted to him.
The Council highlighted key milestones in his judicial career, noting that he served as an assistant judge at the Hodeidah District Court, a judge at Zabid Court, and a deputy public prosecutor in the governorate. He also served as head of the Wusab Al-Safil Court and the Criminal Court in Hodeidah, as well as editor-in-chief of the Judicial Journal previously issued by the Supreme Court. He was later appointed President of the Hodeidah Court of Appeal, a member of the Technical Office and Civil Division of the Supreme Court, before assuming the chairmanship of the Supreme Commission for Elections. The Council affirmed that the judiciary has lost a prominent judicial figure with his passing.
The Chief Justice and members of the Council extended their sincere condolences and sympathy to the sons of the deceased, including Judge Abdulkarim Al-Salami, Head of the Commercial Division at the Hodeidah Court of Appeal, as well as to Jamal, Abduljabbar, the entire Al-Salami family, and his colleagues in the judiciary over this great loss. They prayed to Allah Almighty to bestow His vast mercy upon him, grant him eternal paradise, give his family patience and solace.
'Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.'
