Supreme Political Council Condemns Aggression Against Iran, Warns of Wider Regional Implications

General

Sana’a: The Supreme Political Council condemned and denounced in the strongest terms the treacherous criminal American-Israeli aggression that targeted the Islamic Republic of Iran, affirming that this aggression aims to break the deterrence equation in preparation for targeting everyone.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Supreme Political Council confirmed in a statement issued today that this blatant aggression constitutes a fully-fledged major crime, a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of an independent state, and a scandalous departure from international laws and charters, revealing the true nature of the United States and the Israeli entity as two aggressive powers that disregard laws and humanitarian values.

The Council expressed its full and steadfast solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran, its leadership, government, and people, affirming its legitimate right to defend its sovereignty, security, and independence of decision.

It held the United States of America and the Zionist entity fully responsible for the repercussions of this dangerous escalation and the potential consequences it may have on the security and stability of the region.

The statement pointed out that targeting Iran comes as a result of its principled stance, its Islamic identity, its independent choice, and its refusal to submit to American and Zionist hegemony, as well as its firm support for the just causes of the nation, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, and its clear backing of the forces of resistance in confronting the occupation.

It considered this aggression an advanced step within an American-Israeli project aimed at subjugating the region and enabling the Israeli entity to impose its dominance. It is not directed against Iran alone, but rather constitutes a prelude to a broader plan to reshape the region and strip it of its elements of strength by striking one of the most important strategic obstacles to the expansion of the Zionist project.

The Council stressed that American-Israeli persistence will not achieve security for the Zionist entity, and that expanding the circle of targeting will only lead to expanding the circle of confrontation and strengthening and escalating the path of resistance, and that the peoples of the region will not accept the imposition of equations of dominance by force.

It warned the countries of the region against dealing with this aggression as a matter distant from them, affirming that targeting Iran aims to break the deterrence equation in preparation for targeting everyone, and that any silence or reliance on American protection is a losing bet that will drag the region into further tension and chaos and grant the Israeli entity a broader opportunity to implement its plans.

The Supreme Political Council also called on the peoples and free individuals of the nation, its active forces, its scholars, and its elites to take a clear and responsible stance against this American-Israeli aggression, to thwart its objectives and aims, and to strengthen unity of position in confronting the common danger that threatens the present and future of the nation.

It also called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to convene and discuss this dangerous aggression against the region.
