Taiz: Al-Misrah Multipurpose Agricultural Cooperative Society in the Taiz Governorate has officially opened an agricultural services center, funded at a cost of six million rials by the local authority through the Agricultural Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit. The new center aims to bolster the agricultural sector in the region by expanding production capabilities and providing farmers with necessary resources at affordable rates.
According to Yemen News Agency, Deputy Governor for Development Affairs Abdulwasea Al-Shamsi remarked during the opening ceremony that the center is a testament to the leadership's commitment to agricultural development. The local authority's plan includes enhancing agricultural production and delivering cost-effective services to farmers. Al-Shamsi underscored Al-Misrah's potential as a thriving agricultural hub, with the center set to offer essential inputs such as seeds and fertilizers at competitive prices.
Abdullah Al-Jundi, an official from the Agricultural Sector, emphasized that the center embodies the principle of 'one hand protects and one hand builds,' highlighting the unified efforts to achieve food security. The initiative is expected to significantly contribute to the region's agricultural development.
Amer Al-Adhal, Executive Director of the Agricultural Cooperative Union, stated that the project addresses farmers' needs by curbing monopolies through competitive pricing and fostering the development of agricultural value chains. The new center is also projected to assist farmer groups in improving productivity, enhancing crop quality, reducing production costs, and providing small-scale farmers with technical services and affordable agricultural inputs.
