Taiz: The Development Sector in Taiz governorate organized a speech event to commemorate al-Wilayah Day under the slogan, 'For whoever I am his master, Ali is his master,' with participation from development, agricultural, and cooperative institutions.

According to Yemen News Agency, the event was organized by cooperative associations, the agricultural sector, the Social Affairs Office, the Agricultural Financing Unit, the Initiatives Department, branches of the Economic Corporation, the Water Resources Authority, the Interventions Unit, branches of the Fisheries Authority, slaughterhouses, the Credit Bank, the Agricultural Union, and Bonyan Foundation.

Speaking on behalf of the local authority, Deputy Governor for Development Affairs Abdulwasi' Al-Shamsi described Wilayah Day as a renewed faith-based occasion for drawing lessons in sacrifice, patience, and steadfastness in support of religion and the nation. He said the concept of wilayah represents a fundamental principle for moving from weakness to empowerment, adding that the occasion symbolizes the completion of religion, fulfillment of divine blessings, adherence to covenants, and sincere loyalty to God, His Messenger, Imam Ali, and religious guides.

Al-Shamsi noted that commemorating the occasion reflects commitment to Islamic identity and adherence to the teachings and example of Prophet Muhammad. He added that the military achievements witnessed in Yemen are, in his view, a result of adherence to the principle of wilayah. He stressed that consolidating the principle of wilayah requires translating it into educational, administrative, and developmental practices, particularly through increased productivity in the agricultural and development sectors to advance the Islamic nation.

The deputy governor also highlighted directives issued by the leadership regarding administrative and development reforms, describing them as a roadmap for improving state institutions and development performance. He emphasized the importance of achieving self-sufficiency in food and clothing to strengthen societal resilience and national sovereignty.

For his part, Agricultural Sector Official Engineer Abdullah Al-Jundi said Wilayah Day represents an important occasion for renewing spiritual ties with God, His Messenger, and the Prophet's family, while reinforcing values and principles derived from the Holy Quran. He stated that the occasion embodies a faith-based concept that promotes unity and preserves the religious and cultural identity of the nation. He added that adherence to divine guidance and the Quran is the best way to confront challenges and threats facing the Islamic nation.

Al-Janadi further stated that the nation requires leadership that derives its legitimacy from Islamic values and principles and works to protect human dignity and defend just causes. He cited the steadfastness of the peoples of Palestine, Lebanon, and Yemen as examples of commitment to what he described as truth and resistance to domination and injustice.

During the event, attended by directors of offices, associations, development units, and authorities in the governorate, cultural activist Yusuf Al-Basha spoke about the importance of the concept of wilayah in Islam and called for greater engagement with the Quran and the Prophet's biography to understand its significance. He also reviewed historical aspects of the life of Imam Ali and his role in supporting Islam, emphasizing that faith-based identity and attachment to God, His Messenger, Imam Ali, and religious guides constitute an essential foundation for confronting challenges facing the nation.
