Sana'a: In preparation for the celebration of the Prophet's birthday, First Deputy Prime Minister Mohammed Miftah and Secretary of the Capital Sana'a Dr. Hammoud Ubad launched on Wednesday a series of cleanliness, awareness, and tree-planting initiatives in the Al-Sabeen district of Sana'a.
According to Yemen News Agency, the launch was attended by the Chairman of the Supreme Electoral Commission, Judge Mohammed al-Salami. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the government's focus on cleanliness as a crucial measure for disease and epidemic prevention. He noted that cleanliness is a matter of faith, civilization, and social responsibility that everyone must embody in their daily lives.
Miftah expressed hope that Al-Sabeen district would serve as a model for others, with the capital setting an example for the rest of the governorates. He praised the efforts of community initiatives that assist sanitation workers in removing waste and participating in the campaign alongside students, educators, and local business owners.
Dr. Ubad stated that the campaigns, led by the Capital Secretariat through the Cleanliness and Improvement Fund, are part of the preparations for the Prophet's birthday celebration. He emphasized that the cleanliness, improvement, and tree-planting efforts would continue throughout all neighborhoods of the capital's districts until the 12th of Rabi' al-Awwal.
The Executive Director of the Cleanliness Fund, Mohammed Sharaf al-Din, and the Director of the Cleanliness Project, Ibrahim al-Sarabi, confirmed that these campaigns are part of the Capital Secretariat's broader plan to commemorate the occasion.
The campaign saw participation from Al-Sabeen District Director Mohammed Al-Washli, local and executive leaders, traffic police, sanitation and agricultural workers, environmental awareness teams, and community members.
