Traffic Police and Yemen Gas Company Collaborate to Regulate Tanker Movement

Sana'a: A strategic meeting was convened between Maj. Gen. Dr. Bakil Al-Barashi, Director General of the Traffic Police, and Yasser Al-Wahidi, Acting Executive Director of the Yemen Gas Company, to discuss the coordination of gas tanker movement and ensure driver compliance with traffic regulations.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting saw the participation of several key figures, including Ali Aziz, Director of Financial Affairs, Ismail Al-Wadaei, Director of Commercial Affairs, Saeed Al-Sharif, Director of Facilities, and Abdulmalek Al-Junaid, Director of Operations from the Gas Company. Lt. Col. Salah Al-Jahafi, Command and Control Director of the Traffic Police, was also present. The discussions centered on addressing issues related to tanker movement, such as traffic accidents involving tankers and violations by some drivers that negatively impact traffic flow and contribute to congestion.

Yasser Al-Wahidi emphasized the company's dedication to cooperating with the Traffic Police and adhering to regulations to ensure public safety and smooth traffic flow. He expressed support for measures aimed at organizing tanker routes and reducing violations and accidents. Al-Wahidi highlighted the importance of drivers following traffic instructions and avoiding random stopping or movements that could obstruct traffic or endanger road users.

Al-Wahidi also noted the company's commitment to monitoring drivers and transporters, enhancing awareness, and ensuring compliance with agreed instructions. He mentioned that facilitating tanker movement is crucial for the timely arrival and unloading of gas supplies, aligning with the company's operational plans.

Maj. Gen. Dr. Bakil Al-Barashi reviewed the approved plan for regulating and managing tanker movement. He pointed out that organizing routes, movement times, and designated parking has significantly reduced traffic accidents and congestion. Dr. Al-Barashi stressed the importance of adhering to designated routes and traffic regulations to prevent random parking and congestion at city entrances and unloading points.

He further emphasized that road safety is a shared responsibility that requires coordinated efforts from all relevant authorities to minimize accidents and congestion on streets and roads.
